Questions

# Wedding film questions

Straight answers about booking, the day, your film and what happens if plans change. If yours is not here, email me.

## Booking

### How do I check if you are free on our date?

Send me your date and venue through the [enquiry form](https://elliespencer.uk.com/weddings/#enquire) or email [ellie@elliespencer.uk.com](mailto:ellie@elliespencer.uk.com). I reply within one working day.

### When is our date actually held?

Once I have confirmed the booking in writing and the 25% booking fee is paid. Until then the date is not held, however far the conversation has gone.

### When is the balance due?

Four weeks before the wedding.

### Do you travel to our venue?

Travel within 40 miles of my home near Worcester is included. That covers Worcestershire, south Warwickshire and the north Cotswolds. Anything further is quoted before you book.

## On the day

### How many hours do you cover?

The Ceremony covers eight hours, from the ceremony to the first dance. The Full Day and Film & Photography cover twelve hours, from preparations to the first dance. Extra hours on the day are £70 an hour, if I am free to stay.

### Will you pose us or direct the day?

No. I work one step back and film what happens, rather than arranging moments for the camera. You will get some time for portraits if you want it, but most of the film is the day as it ran.

### Do you work on your own?

I film on my own. If you book Film & Photography, a second shooter I have worked with for years comes with me to take the photographs.

### Do you need a meal?

Please provide a meal and a short break when coverage runs beyond six hours.

### What if our venue restricts filming?

I need your venue's permission to film and I work within any limits it sets. Some venues and officiants restrict filming during the ceremony. Tell me what they have said and I will plan around it.

## Your film

### What do we receive?

A highlight film of five to eight minutes, the full ceremony and speeches edited, and a 60-second teaser within a week. Everything is delivered through a private online gallery with unlimited downloads.

### How long until we get our film?

The teaser arrives within one week. The full film takes eight to ten weeks. With Film & Photography, the photographs arrive within six weeks.

### How is the sound recorded?

The vows and the speeches are recorded on their own microphones, so the film carries what was actually said.

### Can we share the film?

Yes. You can share it, post it on your own social media and print stills for personal use. You cannot sell it or licence it to anyone else. Suppliers such as venues and florists need to ask me directly.

### How long do you keep our film?

Ten years, in your private gallery. Please download and back up your own copies too.

## If plans change

### What if we need to postpone?

If I am free on your new date, your booking and booking fee move across at no extra charge. If I am not, it is treated as a cancellation. Full details are in the [booking terms](https://elliespencer.uk.com/booking-terms/).

### What if we cancel?

If you booked without us meeting in person, you can cancel within 14 days of booking for a full refund. After that, the booking fee is kept, 50% of the total is due between 4 and 12 weeks before, and 100% inside 4 weeks.

### What happens if you are ill on the day?

I will find a replacement of the same standard from colleagues I trust, at no extra cost. If no replacement can be found, everything you have paid is refunded in full.

### Are you insured?

Yes. £5 million public liability and £1 million professional indemnity. Certificates are available on request.
